Alec and Amanda’s Intimate Alaska Destination Wedding in the beautiful haven of The Inn at Tern Lake, located in Moose Pass, Alaska was a beautiful, love-filled day with their closest friends and family.
Alec and Amanda chose Alaska for their Destination Wedding and the quaint venue they chose was the perfect setting for their Alaskan Wedding Weekend. The Inn at Tern Lake is located in Moose Pass, Alaska, tucked in a picture-esque hideaway in the most beautiful mountains.

The Inn at Tern Lake is a family-run Bed and Breakfast located in the Kenai Mountains in Moose Pass, Alaska. From Anchorage, the Inn is about a 1.5 hour drive South. This venue is great for micro-weddings and small groups, as they offer multiple different options for on-site lodging. Additionally, the family-run operation offers on -site catering and the food is INCREDIBLE. As an Alaskan Wedding Planner, the Inn at Tern Lake is one of my top favorite venues for an Intimate Alaska Destination Wedding!
AirBNB and Backyard-style weddings are popular for more intimate gatherings in Alaska. We have a few venues that specialize in just that – see my post about Lauren and Dan’s wedding in Soldotna
The Inn at Tern Lake offers a beautiful, manicured lawn complete with an in-ground arbor for wedding ceremonies. Alec and Amanda wanted to showcase the natural beauty that this venue and the surroundings offer, so they chose a grounded ceremony floral installation. I LOVE a good grounded floral install, and Kasara from The Teal Door absolutely knocked it out of the park. The love radiating through this wedding party was so wonderful. Alec and Amanda opted to have a close friend officiate their wedding. I love these types of personal touches in a ceremony – they let him run with it and his words spoke so true of their love.
The in-house catering offered by the Inn at Tern Lake is DECADENT, to say the least! Fresh halibut was a big hit with this out-of-town crew. Alec and Amanda kicked off the reception with a round of toasts that was really special- so special that it ended with the wedding couple being “iced” by a family member.
Ondago DJ kept the dance floor packed all night long. This crew comes from Polish lineage and when they say they love to dance – trust them. Even though it was a chilly evening in mid-June in Alaska, the crowd still enjoyed some yard games on the lawn.
Honestly, I don’t know what’s happening in this first photo other than… its a vibe.
Midnight Sun Cakery offers a fireweed honey flavor for her wedding cake offerings and let me just tell you… it is the best wedding cake I have EVER tasted. I could eat plates and plates and plates of it. The ground installation for the ceremony doubled as a sweetheart table meadow, as well.
Alec and Amanda’s first anniversary was yesterday. Following them on Instagram, I can see they’ve had a year of adventure filled with love. I’ll always remember this perfect day tucked in the Kenai mountains of Alaska where we celebrated their love. Happy Anniversary to the Bonnetts!
